From Data to Dreams: The Journey of SkinSapphair

In 2018, I took a leap of faith. After working as a data analyst, I decided to follow my passion for natural beauty and wellness by launching Tokxy Soapworks  now  SkinSapphair. I envisioned a brand that would offer high-quality, natural, and handmade skin and hair care products. It was a bold move, but I was driven by a desire to create something meaningful-something that would not only nourish the skin but also reflect my values of authenticity and care.

The Early Days

Leaving the stability of a corporate job to start a business was both exhilarating and daunting. I poured my heart into crafting products that I believed in—natural, ethically sourced, and made with love. The journey was filled with late nights and endless experimentation to perfect each formula. Slowly but surely, SkinSapphair began to grow, and I felt a sense of fulfilment that I had never experienced before.

Weathering the Storm: COVID-19

Just as the business was gaining momentum, the world was hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. Like many small businesses, SkinSapphair faced significant challenges. Supply chains were disrupted, sourcing quality ingredients became harder, and the uncertainty of the global situation affected sales. It was a tough period, but giving up was never an option.

I used this time to focus on what mattered most—ensuring that every product remained of the highest quality. Despite the obstacles, I continued to source the best natural ingredients and maintain the integrity of the brand. The trust and support of my customers during this time kept me going, and I emerged from the pandemic with a renewed sense of purpose.

A New Chapter: Motherhood

In 2022, I welcomed my beautiful son into the world—a life-changing moment that brought immense joy and new responsibilities. Motherhood has been a journey of love, learning, and balancing. As a lone parent, every day is a juggling act. Caring for a toddler, pursuing a full-time university degree, and running SkinSapphair is no small feat, but each role brings its own rewards.

The Art of Balancing

Balancing these roles requires meticulous time management and an unwavering commitment to quality. I’ve learned to maximise every moment—whether it’s studying for an exam while my son naps or working on product formulations late into the night. The goal is always to ensure that SkinSapphair products meet the highest standards.

Cutting corners is never an option. Every product that leaves my workshop is crafted with care, using ingredients that are natural, ethically sourced, and beneficial for the skin and hair. I believe that my customers deserve nothing but the best, and I work tirelessly to deliver on that promise.
